The History of Big Ass
The Thai pop rock band Big Ass recorded and released their first Album in 1997. This album was Big Ass Not Bad. In 2000 Big Ass released their second album named Big Ass XL. The third album called Big Ass My World was recorded and released in 2003.
It was after their fourth album Big Ass Seven that Big Ass become very succesfull in terms of awards and record sales. Big Ass Seven was awarded in Thailand; the Season Awards and Fat Awards. Big Ass were voted the most popular artist by fellow artists in Fat Awards and nominated as the most popular band during the 4th Channel Thailand Music Video Awards.
The fifth full album of Big Ass was Begins with hit songs such as Kha Noi Somkhuan Tai and Prom Li-Kit.
Aside from the Big Ass studio albums, Big Ass has a song in the special album Wan Fa Mai (วันฟ้าใหม่) celebrating New Year the end of 2005. The song Rao (เรา) in the album was performed by Big Ass together with Bodyslam.
In 2008, an original soundtrack for Thai movie Pid Term Yai Hua Jai Wawun (ปิดเทอมใหญ่ หัวใจว้าวุ่น, also known as Hormones) featured Big Ass. The band also appeared in the movie as themselves playing the song Kon Tai (ก่อนตาย) in a pub.
